Bushido - Battle of Blades
Developed by Game Gen
Released for Xbox One (10/2017)
Bushido - Battle of Blades is a free game released through the Xbox Creators Program. The only information provided on how to play the game is provided at the title screen, which states "Attack when you see !!" and that's it. So prepare to enter Bushido completely confused as to what's going on. Pressing B button at any time will back out of the game so watch yourself on that one (I've noticed this in a couple Creators Program games now).
Once you press a button at the title screen the game goes right into the action and I'm absolutely stumped how to select two players. I've had the game boot up in two-player and versus CPU modes, but have no idea how to select one or the other. The game has a decent looking graphic of two swordsman standing in a field at sunset. The goal of the game is to wait for the exclamation points to pop up and then be the first one to attack, so the game is basically a fast-draw showdown with swords. To attack you press the right trigger and the left trigger seems to act as a counter of some sort, it's hard to say exactly because the game never informs the player! Bushido - Battle of Blades is a super simple game and with a bit more polish could have been a decent distraction for a few minutes, but in its current state I find it hard to recommend.
Final Verdict: Bushido - Battle of Blades is a fast-draw showdown with swords that sounds much cooler than it actually is. Save your time and hard-drive space.
