World Revolution is essentially a remake of an old Atari arcade classic Liberator, which itself was an update to another Atari classic Missile Command. In case you're not familiar with the classics that inspired World Revolution, the gameplay involves shooting down incoming missiles before they take down the cities or the missile silos in your country. You'll have to lead your shots a bit since you'll have to factor in the distance your shots will travel. A bomb is also available that will destroy all missiles in the sky, but of course your stock is limited. In World Revolution you have a view of the globe and can rotate it to get a better look at the incoming missiles. You also have a radar indicating which direction the attacks are coming from. If you're able to get an enemy missile to hit the explosion of another enemy missile, you'll temporarily freeze time and have a chance to set up a few easy counterattacks. If you have a perfect round, meaning you protect all cities and silos, your "power grid" is upgraded which will upgrade your missile shots but it will be downgraded if you take any damage thereafter. The difficulty progressively ramps up and before you know it the attacks will start to overwhelm you. The settings menu allows you to invert the rotation horizontally or vertically and also lets you adjust the sensitivity. The game also keeps track of your local high scores. World Revolution is a solid update to Liberator and is a fun arcade-style missile blasting time!
Final Verdict: World Revolution will be enjoyed by Missile Command and Liberator fans in particular, but I think anybody can enjoy the concept of shooting down incoming missiles to protect your country.
