Hardboiled Pinball
Developed by Stryde Games
Released for XBLIG (2/2012)
Hardboiled Pinball is, as you may have guessed, a pinball game. It features one table with a gangster/noir motif. The graphics are composed of nice-looking high-res artwork, and the table appears flat like the old Epic Pinball games that came out on PC back in the '90's. The ball physics seem pretty solid for the most part and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. The table itself features a pretty basic layout, with sets of bumpers on the sides to hit, a ramp on the right and a couple of other targets laid out for you. There are some bonus points available to those who can hit the proper ramps in the right order. If you're into pinball games, I believe you may get some enjoyment out of Hardboiled Pinball, just beware that this is the only table you get. It's not as fancy as the Pinball FX titles, but it only costs a buck and is an enjoyable way to waste a little time.
Final Verdict: Pinball fanatics might have some fun with Hardboiled Pinball; though it's limited to one table it's quite competently designed and only costs a buck.
